Class 43 HST (Valenta) Sound Decoder And Speaker (Next 18)

This is the original Paxman Valenta powered HST, now all but disappeared from the real railway as they have been replaced with MTU units.
Produced with the kind co-operation of Network Rail using sounds of the Valenta engines recorded on the NMT.
With the later Hornby models you can fit sound decoders in both power cars. As there is no motor in one car this will react slightly slower than the other powered car, which is actually fairly prototypical! Alternatively if you are fitting one sound decoder, you will need a second, motor function decoder to control the light functions.
